The impact of stress on your brain

At Charlotte Labee Supplements, we believe this is an excellent time to dedicate a blog to the impact of stress. As you undoubtedly know, there is currently a great deal of uncertainty and fear in society; for two years due to Corona, and now the war between Russia and Ukraine has been added to that.

For example, people are wondering to what extent we will also be affected by the war? And how do we deal with so many refugees, whom we see on the news? Seeing so many disturbing images does not go unnoticed by the brain. In addition, daily life simply continues, and you have to meet all the demands placed on you for the sake of your work, family, or other social obligations. Your brain can become quite overstimulated, and this causes stress in your body.

The cause and consequences of stress

Many people have become so accustomed to negative patterns and thought streams that they are unaware of the hormonal stress response in their bodies. Often, they have even developed one or more coping mechanisms in their youth to alleviate pain, anger, or sadness. The fact that we have to process many more stimuli than before does not help. We all have a smartphone, are reachable all day long, and are exposed to a lot of radiation. In addition, the dietary pattern of the average Dutch person does not have a positive effect on the quality of the gut flora, and many suffer from deficiencies in certain vitamins or minerals. These and other stimuli cause us to be overloaded. As a result, more and more people are struggling with depression, loneliness, and burnout.

Unconscious vs. conscious

Every human being is controlled by the subconscious for as much as 95%. In addition, 95% of the thoughts you have today are the same as the thoughts you had yesterday. If your brain is filled with negative patterns, negative thoughts are repeated every day. Every time this happens, stress hormones are released, and the chronic stress response continues. That is why it is important to discover and change patterns in the subconscious.
