In this blog, you'll see the recipe prepared in a heart-shaped cake pan. The ingredients are sufficient for one cake pan or 8-10 muffin molds. Use a food processor or chopper to prepare the recipe.
Ingredients:
- 250 grams or 16 dates
- 125 grams almond flour
- 4 eggs
- 50 grams almonds
- 70 grams dark chocolate
- 3 tablespoons cocoa powder. Tip! Also try it with our cacao mix.
- 2 teaspoons cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- Juice of half a lemon
- Coconut oil or parchment paper for the cake pan
Optional additions:
- Shredded coconut
- Red fruit
How to make this delicious chocolate date cake?
- Prepare all ingredients and pit the dates.
- Put the dates, cocoa, and cinnamon in the food processor.
- Mix everything; it might get a bit sticky. If so, divide it in half!
- Then mix everything with the almond flour in the food processor / chopper. A crumbly dough will form.
- Whisk the 4 eggs.
- Add the eggs, baking soda, and lemon juice to the batter. Mix it with a spatula; it doesn't need to be perfectly smooth.
- Finely chop the almonds and dark chocolate.
- Mix the almonds and dark chocolate with the batter.
- Spread the batter evenly into your cake pan.
- Place your cake pan in the preheated oven at 170 degrees Celsius, for 35 minutes. For a smaller mold or muffins, we recommend 15-20 minutes.
Let the cake cool for at least 30 minutes before cutting it. It will still be wonderfully moist inside. Serve optionally with some shredded coconut, red fruit, or with a scoop of ice cream for a romantic dinner.
